Community Development as a Catalyst for Social Change: MM-FEB UI’s Commitment
As an essential part of the MM-FEB UI’s mission: “To nurture ethical, socially responsible, and globally competitive leaders who can contribute to the advancement of business and management practices,” MM-FEB UI’s students are continuously educated to care for others through community development (CD) from the beginning of their studies until graduation. This sense of care is cultivated and developed throughout the human life process and, thus, must be continuously nurtured and encouraged.

Various activities are carried out regularly and sustainably, aiming to enhance the sense of care towards others and the surrounding community. As a tangible contribution to the socio-economic life of Indonesian society, the MM FEB UI Berbagi event is an annual initiative held jointly with the MM FEB UI Student Committee.
In celebration of Indonesia’s Independence Day on August 17, 2024, MM FEB UI and SC-MMUI organized the MMUI Berbagi event. Kindergarten, elementary school, junior high school, and high school students in the Pamulang area participated in this year’s event themed “Semarak Pamulang.” With the spirit of contributing to education in a fun way, this event aimed to broaden children’s knowledge through education, interactive games, and various friendly competitions. The event provided an opportunity for children to gain the confidence to perform in public. The students could develop communication and interaction skills, as well as self-confidence, by participating in this event and interacting with fellow participants.
This activity aligns with the government’s goal of creating the Golden Generation of 2045, where broad community support is needed to create a conducive environment for the nation’s development and progress. It is hoped that through activities like this, a generation that is caring, highly competitive, and ready to face future challenges will be shaped.
MMUI Berbagi was held on Friday, August 16, 2024, at Kopi Klotok and Chez Takiro Pamulang restaurants. The event began at 15:00 with an opening remark from MM FEB UI. Kindergarten children then participated in a coloring competition, while elementary school students from grades 1 to 3 participated in a drawing competition with the theme of Independence Day. Students from grades 4 to 6 participated in a storytelling competition.
The junior high school group took part in a team competition to create a short video presentation with the theme “Celebrating August 17th at Kopi Klotok and Chez Takiro Pamulang.” Finally, the high school group participated in a bulletin board competition with the theme “Pamulang.”

After hours of fun and informative activities, the event concluded at 7:00 with the announcement of winners and the awarding of prizes. On this occasion, we invited the District Head of Pamulang, Mr. H. Mukroni; and the heads of Pamulang Timur.
