Students and faculty have the opportunity to engage in a rigorous program at another network school through Global Network Weeks. The program is centered around a specialized course that takes advantage of the host institution’s unique perspectives, programs, and expertise. Students attend seminars, visit local businesses, and meet with experts who specialize in addressing current business issues. These events allow students to collaborate and connect with peers from all corners of the network.
Global Network Courses are virtual, for-credit courses a GNAM member offers to all network students. The courses are called small network online courses, or SNOCs. SNOCs enroll a select group of students working together to develop management skills with similar interests and aptitude levels. The courses foster cross-cultural understanding and teamwork among students from various member institutions through online lectures, group discussions, and collaborative team projects. The courses use the strengths of the Global Network by bringing MBA candidates from member schools together as part of their regular coursework.
Through the Global Virtual Teams exercise, students from a GNAM member collaborate in teams on an exercise integrated into their regular courses. This exercise offers students hands-on, real-time practice crucial for their effectiveness as members or leaders in organizational teams after graduation. In global and virtual teams, assumptions about information, perspectives, frames of reference, and preferences are more pronounced and have a significant impact.
