Dies Natalis MM FEB UI 36th: A Focus on Collaboration for Economic, Social,
and Environmental Sustainability
On Tuesday, October 8, 2024, the Master of Management Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Indonesia (MM FEB UI), celebrated its 36th anniversary. The event featured a panel discussion highlighting the importance of collaboration between academia and State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) and how these partnerships help advance Indonesia’s economy, society, and environment.
The celebration included speeches from key figures such as Professor Rofikoh Rokhim, Director of the MM Program, who emphasized the program’s commitment to preparing leaders to create positive societal change. She stated that BUMN should be value creators and growth drivers, adding, “To ensure long-term success, BUMN must provide economic benefits while also supporting social progress and protecting the environment.”.
Dean Teguh Dartanto of FEB UI spoke about how business education has changed. He mentioned the shift from focusing solely on profit to including the 5Ps: People, Planet, Prosperity, Peace, and Partnership, aligning with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). He noted that FEB UI is committed to preparing students to meet these goals.
The panel discussion also featured Sunarso, the CEO of PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. (BRI), who explained how BRI is tasked with creating economic and social value aligned with the 5P principles Teguh mentioned. In addition to Sunarso, the Deputy Director of PT Bank Syariah Indonesia Tbk. (BSI)—Bob Tyasika Ananta—explained BSI’s role in realizing the 5Ps. The government appointed and trusted BSI to make Indonesia’s Islamic economy more competitive in ASEAN region and the world.
The event also highlighted insights from key figures such as Bobby Rasyidin, CEO of PT LEN Industri (Persero); Maya Watono, Director of Marketing and Consumer Experience at PT Aviasi Pariwisata Indonesia (Persero); and Enny Kristiani, Director of HC and Corporate Services at PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk.
With over 8,000 graduates in key positions across different sectors, MM FEB UI continues to have an essential role in education in Indonesia. MM FEB UI has reached many significant milestones over the years. One of the most notable is receiving double accreditation from AACSB and AMBA, making it the only business school in Indonesia to achieve this honor. As a result, MM FEB UI is dedicated to preparing future leaders who can compete at regional and global levels with international perspectives that align with the vision of MM FEB UI.
This year’s anniversary celebrated the program’s history and commitment to improving education and building partnerships that address Indonesia’s challenges. The discussions highlighted how MM FEB UI shapes future leaders who will positively impact society and the environment.
