MM FEB UI places a premium on entrepreneurship education as the linchpin in fostering future business leaders. This ethos is best exemplified in the Innovation and Entrepreneurship course, where students cultivate an entrepreneurial mindset, craft robust business models, and nurture a penchant for continuous innovation. A notable facet of this course is the creation of comprehensive business plans, a testament to the program’s practical orientation.
Bolstered by the promising business plans emerging from this course, MM FEB UI initiated a Startup Competition in collaboration with BRI Ventures. Ten teams submitted their proposals by August 31, 2023, showcasing remarkable interest. After rigorous evaluation, the top six groups earned a coveted spot in the grand final round, where they would present their projects to discerning juries. These groups are: 1. E-Mine, 2. Sea Mode Ticket Booking Feature – Traveloka, 3. UI Urban Forest Park, 4. The Keboen, 5. Sentosa, and 6. BCAxMeta.

The culminating event on September 9, 2023, commenced with an address from Mr. Arief Wibisono Lubis, Ph.D., the Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs at FEB UI. He lauded the students’ dedication to the Innovation and Entrepreneurship course, highlighting their comprehensive knowledge in critical areas such as marketing, finance, strategy, and product development. Mr. Arief emphasized the importance of seeking investors, a pivotal step in transforming concepts into tangible businesses.
Next, Prof. Rofikoh Rokhim, Ph.D., Director of the MM-MBA Program, shared compelling success stories of graduates who leveraged their knowledge to launch impactful ventures. Prof. Rofikoh underscored the power of collaborative entrepreneurship as alumni joined forces to expand their enterprises. Both Mr. Arief and Prof. Rofikoh expressed a shared hope that MM FEB UI will continue to nurture a legacy of successful young entrepreneurs.
In the grand finale, participants had a brief 10-minute window to present their ideas, followed by an intensive 30-minute Q&A session with the discerning juries. The juries are: 1. James Eugene, Investment Associate from BRI Ventures, 2. Ahmad Gamal, S.Ars., M.U.P, Ph.D., Director of Innovation and Science Techno Park, Universitas Indonesia), and 3. Avanti Fontana, Ph.D., Innovation and Entrepreneurship Course Coordinator and a Faculty Member of FEB UI.
