GNAM Week Universitas Indonesia, 5th Day in Surakarta / Solo

On the final day of GNAM Week 2023 in Indonesia, today’s agenda kicks out with group discussions at 8 a.m. in the Ballroom, first floor of the Swiss-Belinn Solo Hotel’s MM FEB UI Room 1 and MM FEB UI Room 2. The participants talked about how to respond to queries and prepare presentations as they sat in their groups.

After lunch, the event resumed, and the group presentations started at 13.00. In the room’s division, specifically:

MM FEB UI Room 1: Groups 1-4 were assessed by Mrs Yeshika Alversia, M. Sc. and Mr. Arviansyah, Ph.D. and MM FEB UI Room 2: Groups 5-8 were assessed by Mr. Jonathan Marpaung, Ph.D. and Mr. Daniel Tumpal, Ph.D.

The event at Ballroom FEB 1 commenced under the guidance of Mr. Arviansyah, Ph.D., wherein the presentation order for the groups was randomized. Following the random selection, the order for the groups was determined as Group 2, Group 4, Group 1, and finally, Group 3. Each group was allocated approximately 15 minutes for their presentations, which would be followed by questions and comments from the judges, Mr. Arviansyah, Ph.D., and Mrs. Yeshika Alversia, M. Sc., in the Ballroom FEB 1. The event proceeded smoothly, with all groups presenting their unique ideas in response to the overarching question posed by the GN Week 2023 assignment: How can their respective groups provide ideas for the implementation of digital transformation in a particular industry? Notably, Group 1 adopted an unconventional presentation style, opting for a talk show concept. This approach led to group members engaging in a dialogue by posing questions to one another during their presentation.

The process of group presentations got underway in MM FEB UI room 2 under the direction of Mr. Jonathan Marpaung, Ph.D. The presentation groups that will be present are chosen at random. Starting from group 6, group 7, group 5, and finally group 8 are listed in order. Each group will have roughly 15 minutes to present the findings before a 5-minute Q&A. TheĀ  other groups can ask and respond to questions.

The event proceeded smoothly, with all groups presenting their unique ideas in response to the overarching question posed by the GN Week 2023 assignment.

After all the groups in Ballroom FEB 1 and FEB 2 had completed their presentations, the participants were given a break for meals. After approximately 30 minutes, all participants were gathered in Ballroom FEB 1 for the announcement session regarding the winners of the GN Week October 2023 presentations. It was revealed that the third-place honors were awarded to two groups, Group 4 and Group 5, while the second place was secured by Group 1 Finally, the first place was announced as being awarded to Group 7. They were presented with bomber jackets as a reward and a memento from MM FEB UI for their outstanding performance in GN Week October 2023.

Additionally, there was an announcement regarding the “Most Engaged Participant,” recognizing the three individuals who had been the most active throughout the week-long GN Week event. This accolade was bestowed upon Ms. Sulistiani from MM FEB UI, Ms. Diana from Australia, and Mr. Vicente from Chile. Then, each representative from every nation that attended the GNAM Week 2023 event in Indonesia shared their thoughts and comments on the occasion. Mr. Vicente, a participant from UC Chile, shared his thoughts about the event “Your nationalities are powerful for sure, and you should be proud of yourself because of all the great things that your government is doing. There are a lot of ideas that I’m going to take for Chileā€.

The winner of the best group went to Group 7, and Manjiri from IIMB India, the representative of Group 7, also gave a word during the event. she said, “Batik was anĀ  amazing first experience, it was the best, I even asked if I would get the chance to do it again and in making. And the presentation in such a short time with the discussion we had about

what we learned over the last 5 days was an amazing thing we did, and one more thing, yes, thank you for that, thank you for everything, thank you for supporting us”.

Lastly, a certificate was given to each participant and thus marked the conclusion of GNAM Week 2023 in Indonesia.
